Good Food Friday
If you’re anything like me and currently in the vicinity of Amsterdam, you could use some cheering up on this drab not so summer like day. So not only am I here to present some of my very own home made food porn, but I’m going to share my secret sesame recipe also! There really is nothing like a bit of comfort food to cheer one’s soul up.
Ingredients and Cooking method:
- 1 largechicken breast (per 2 people increase recipe based on ammount per serving) Cut into small peices and placed aside in a bowl
Marinade for Chicken:
- 3 table spoons of Sesame oil
- 1 chicken boullion
- Pour over and mix with spoon. Set aside chicken to make Batter.
Batter for Chicken
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg (beaten)
- ½ cup water
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Bring a generous ammount of sunflower oil to heat in a pan.
Pour half of the chicken peices into the batter bowl.
Scoup out chicken from batter, peice by peice with a spoon and gently drop into hot oil. Cook both sides until golden brown and set aside on a plate covered in paper towels.
Sweet honey sauce and topping
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon white distilled vinegar
Place in a large pot and bring to heat while stirring. Drop in breaded chicken and lightly stir until covered but carefully as to not pull the breading off the chicken peices. Transfer to a serving dish and cover with sesame seeds and chopped green onions! Serve with a side of vegitable rice for a delicious dinner in.
I know it looks like alot, but once you do it once or twice and get a handle on how easy it is to make, how delicious it is, and how many people you can feed on a budget I promise you’ll be saying thank you and adding this recipe to your personal collections.
